Eight Phoenix police officers are injured in a hourslong barricade standoff with an armed suspect at a home in the area. Police believe the suspect shot the first officer who approached the home, and then may have used a baby at the home as a way to lure officers closer to the house. When four officers went to retrieve the baby, they were shot. Three other officers were injured by shrapnel from the shooting. The suspect, who has not been identified, was later found dead in the home.
