Mabel is a Native American grandmother who lives alone, tending her drought-ravaged corn in the desert Southwest. Her half-Mexican grandson, Third, dreams of "making it big" in LA, but his plans change dramatically when he comes to his grandmother's house to collect traditional dolls he hopes to sell for a high price. Lyle is a faded magician from LA traveling with a white rabbit, the promise of a gig and a life-long dream to be able to magically disappear. When his radiator boils over, he is stranded outside Mabel's house. Both men must yield to a timeless rhythm to discover a capacity greater than imagined.
"This is a very deep movie. If you have a shallow mind you will think it's boring and slow because there are no high speed car chases or bullets flying around. A Native American grandmother is trying to teach not only her grandson about the unseen and mystical world that is around us, but also a complete non-Native because she is telling us that the spirits of Native America belong to everyone. The not-so-successful magician finally starts to get it near the end as well as her grandson. It is an amazing and deep movie, but you have to a sensitive enough spirit to get it." "I stumbled upon this film on Amazon prime since I love their collection of either low budget or under rated films. Immediately I was drawn into the story, characters, and plot. Simply put, it's just good old innocent fun watching this film as well as learning about Native American beliefs. Watch it alone or with the kids." Written by arivera-82631 on
"Oh, God! I needed something like this to clean my spirit from the dirt of these days - news, social networks, stupid politicians. This is not only a different movie experience. It's a spiritual journey." Written by dch_000 on
