Woman Pleads Guilty | Kayaking Death Case






Angelika Graswald pled guilty on Monday to criminally negligent homicide. She had previously been charged with secretly removing a drain plug from Vincent Viafore's kayak. She admitting she caused Viafore's death in 2015 by removing the plug from his kayak. She knew he wasn't wearing a life vest or wetsuit and that Hudson River waters were dangerous and cold. Officials said a $250,000 life insurance policy was the motivation. Graswald’s charge carries a sentence of up to four years in prison.
